4 Have Fun in Appledore

I can’t believe we have already been home a week after such a lovely week in Appledore, in North Devon with our Swedish friends, Irene and Kenth. We returned to Dockside, where we stayed last year for Mark’s 50th birthday…it felt like returning home (or at least home from home). It was pretty wet when we got there and went for a walk, but it soon brightened up.

Such a lovely place to watch the world sail past the end of the garden.

Our first trip was to Arlington Court – beautiful house (with dressing up!), lovely gardens, some yarn bombing and a working horse display.

Then back to Dockside for time to relax. Irene and Kenth had never tried Pimms so we just had to pop to John’s deli, cafe and shop to get a bottle…would have been inhospitable not to! There were rainbows and a dauntingly high tide (to go with the huge moon).
