Mark’s recovery is going well, but he still benefits from using the odd day’s holiday to get some fresh air and exercise, so the other week we headed to Stourhead National Trust house and garden. It’s a little further away than our usuals of Dyrham Park, Lacock Abbey and the Courts, but not much.

A wander around the house and gardens, enjoying the bluebell carpets…

…an interlude for lunch…

…then a slow walk around the lake and parkland…

…admiring the flora…

…and fauna…

…and enjoying the cool of the grotto…

…finishing off with a jaffa cake icecream and a bit of dog-watching…

Lovely shots. Stourhead is one of my favourite National Trust sites. There used to be a gorgeous waterfall down by the Temple but last time I went it had unfortunately dried up. Definitely need to visit again this summer!

I love comments - so do say hello!
